fan on switch...?

fan on switch...?

Im not shure how to make radiator fan work on switch (900rr)...do I just have to hotwire the thermostat cable?

what you want to do is ground the coolant temp sensor.

you want to make a switch that takes the wire from the sensor and switches it to ground. 3 inches of wire, and no fuss no muss

usually the plus side comes from the bike wiring, when the power is on.

the thing that determines does the fan turn, is the temperature. when it gets hot enough the sensor connects the ground(minus).

what you need to do is to put switch between the sensor wires. this way the sensor can make the switching and also you can. both things work.

that's what I thought when talking about hotwireing the thermostat cable...

The fan circuit on a 900rr is always hot, the fan is turned on and off by the thermostat completing the ground.

no need to run a seperate line to the battery. just splice into the the temp sensor wire run it to a switch and then run a ground from the switch to fairing stay or anywhere else u want to ground.
