This is the only time that I get a bit of slop, where the lever will come back all the way to the bar... any other time, even after an hour has passed, so long as the handbrake was used last I never get this little bit of lag, and it's hard and ready.

It's definetly not the piston going back into the bore.... I know this for sure.
the thing should be hard as a rock if you stepp on the foot brake and grab the hand brake at the same time if its not then its def air sorry if i repeated some one i didnt read the whole thread

Re: Full Throttle master......

there should be a LITTLE pump, like the trhead says. if it comes all the way back to the bar, one of two things is wrong:

1. air in system. i always power bleed my isht

2. adjust your hb lever out farther (same as adjusting front brakes)

i had the same problem...brakes would lock...you probably have an aftermarket lever for a handbrake...this is the problem. as soon as i put a stock lever on my gixxer 600 front radial master, the problem went away.

i'll bet money that is the problem.
i have been having this problem and have tried everything except that teach....i even bought a full throttle but i havent used it yet....goin to the junkers tomorrow got one of those carbon fiber gay *** fake ones....

Re: Full Throttle master......

Put the Brembo on and tried it out last night. Still locking up. Took a closer look at it and it seems like the bolt from the pedal going into the master is not going in smoothly. Looks like it moves around a lot when you push on the foot pedal. Does this seem okay? Has anyone ever had the cir-clip pop off inside the rubber boot? Wondering if it popped off and the pedal is just holding it in. Have to tear into it later.

So...not the hand master. The system does not need bled anymore. The pedal is not getting hung up. Anymore thoughts? Standy said the return valve inside the full throttle might be dirty. Anyone else go through this??

Joe Vertical had the same problem w/ a FT master when i was in FLA. Im pretty sure he had to swap out his MC for another one... call FullThrottle I'm sure they'll take care of you!!!

Re: Full Throttle master......

Anyway, my phone is on and I've been in the shop everyday, there really isn't a good reason not to call and ask to begin with rather than scratch at it on the internet for 3 days. I always thought I was pretty approachable. In joe's case it was definately the master cylinder. On the lower pison seal there is a rubber tit that presses through the spring to retain the two parts and the piece of rubber broke from the seal and became lodged in the banjo bolt acting like a check valve. I replaced the seal and sent it back the same day.

I'm jacking this thread. Since FT is done for the season should I get an existing "used" master or wait to see what new products FT is coming out with next spring.

Bill..is it worth the wait?

Re: Full Throttle master......

Its all good now- the piston was partially seized in the master cylinder bore. I pulled it apart, removed the offending crud from the piston and bore, and upon re-installation, Timex says all is operational. This is the reason you should change your brake fluid regularly- the fluid absorbs moisture from the atmosphere, and gums everything up.....it gets especially bad here in Michigan because of the humidity. I can say that none of the problems were the fault of Bill's EXCELLENT product. Infact, the piston bore showed no signs of wear whatsoever. Defiantely a well made piece.
