Idle cable replacement...

Is there anything else I can to McGyver wise to replace my idle cable?

I snapped it today and i'm stuck at 1k rpm and I wanna ride lots asap. Can't find another one for the life of me, or 900rr/F3 ones.

Anyone got an extra one, or have any other way to rig it to work? Yes I tried searching, and like always, got nothing

That would be the easy way... but every dealer here is backordered, and there isn't one cable in the country, and that goes for 900rr's and F3/2's. To top it off nobody locally has any used ones that they want to part with...

I thought of something today and I'm gonna see if I can make a flex/arm linkage system to adjust the screw. This should be interesting...

If you can get a bolt to go in where the cable was you can always clamp a hose over the top of the bolt and run it to an easily accessed place. I have been rocking out a piece of 5/16 hose on the stock gixxer idle screw since I got it.. no probs at all. Maybe that will help, not sure how big the head it on the bolt going in there. Mine had a finger adjuster on it.

Re: Idle cable replacement...

Done... I made my own. I took the stock bolt/pin and drilled the end out so I could slip in a bicycle brake line (rubber stripped off). It fit super tight and I steel epoxied it, then slipped a hose over it all and wired it down so it won't twist. It wasn't strong enough to turn the screw with the spring on, so I tossed the spring and now it's perfect... 20 dollar backordered part can kiss my ***
