954 problems.. plz help
954 problems.. plz help
ok.. just swapped in a new motor in my buddy's 954.. and it's not getting fuel.
we are getting spark for sure
air for sure
but no gas.. the fuel pump works, we tested the fuel line and it spit everywhere; as well we checked the voltage for the fuel rail thingers .. 4 of em.. all reading 12.8. so they're getting at least a base line signal.
having opened the intake butterflies and shone a flashlight in.. it's evident there is no gas being sprayed..
the bank angle sensor (or tip-over sensor) has been bypassed and is not the issue.
all the wiring was triple-checked.. we even tried swapping in a different cpu.
so.. i am at a total loss.. can anyone suggest something to look for? for some reason the bike will not spray gas into the combustion chamber.
oh yea.. and there are no error codes on the display..

If you hear the fuel pump to prime and then stop, then you have pressure, if it continues to prime for ever, then there is no pressure and it's faulty fuel pressure regulator at the end of the fuel rail. But probably not.
the 12.8 volts at the injectors is probably there always when the power is on. the ECU grounds the other wire of the injectors, and that makes the injector to pull and release the fuel.
Fuel injection moment is timed for certain moment, it could be that cam position sensor is not connected or is bad. it's on the left side of the engine, front of the cylinder pointing down.(pretty high). if this sensor is bad the ecu is just waiting when to shoot the fuel, but it has no possibility, because it doesn't know when.
Also check the groundings.

try priming it three or four times before tryin to start it........and check the fuel rail to see if anything is blocking it
grounds are always the problem on my bike/cars
