Removing controls from right clip on?

Im replacing my right clipon (03 954) and cant seem to get the damn controls off. I unscrewed both screws underneath and the top section is off. I don't see what else holds the bottom onto the bar? My throttle tube was f'ed as well if that matters. Not sure if the whole unit is supposed to slide off the clipon as my clipon has a nice bend to it..hence the need to replace.

Bottom of the control is stuck on the bar. I still have the throttle cables connected...do they need to be disconnected?

there's a little tit on the bottom that goes into the clipon, might be the problem.

Re: Removing controls from right clip on?

theres another clip where the throttle cables come out of the housing isn't there? Or is that the yamis I'm thinkin of. Its like a keeper bracket that has one 3-4mm alen screw and hooks around the two cables where they go into the housing.

Re: Removing controls from right clip on?

If the cables are still hooked up you have to slide the throttle tube off with the bottom half of the controls and cables....
