Alright - i'm baffled... 2001 F4i

the pump whines like it's priming, but it never gets fuel to the engine, and never stops priming....

Anyone had this problem?

 

sounds like its ruined, i'll buy it off you and take this pos off your hands for $1,500.00

yeah - that's what it sounds like the problem is...

i've filled it up....

 

it could be faulty fuel pressure regulator. it lets the fuel back to the tank before any pressure gets formed.

there is like two lines, one line comes from tank(from fuel pump inside the tank) to the fuel rail. At the end of the fuel rail there is pressure clock that lets the excess fuel back to the tank. If this pressure regulator is broken, then it can let the fuel back to tank continuously.

alright...

it's STOPPED PRIMING....:YEAH

there was a Brown and a Blue wire touching in the Rat's Nest under my seat...

when they touch, the Fuel Pump whines like it's priming, but it won't let it spark...

Now i just have the 9 blinking "FI" code that i'm gonna go look up...
