I just put a new engine in my 99 r1 and when i rev the engine the mph reading goes up when i rev it. also the tach jumps up every couple seconds and then jumps back down. i dont know what is going on. anybody know how to fix the problem?

 

check your battery connection to make sure its tight.

if it is bouncing a lot, it could be a trouble code, one is for the reserve fuel sensor and the other has to do with the exup valve. otherwise goto the r1 forum website.

 

my tach used to do the same thing;ground was fraid *spelling* i replaced it,everything was fine and dandy
