anyone burn up clutch plates?

anyone burn up clutch plates?

i killed another set of clutch plates in my bike.... i dont know why i keep burning them up... someone once told me that if the steels over heat that they are shot and the frictions wont stick to them.. and maybe thats why ive burned up the new plates?

if the metals were really beat on and overheated, then they will be discolored and glazed over, and yes they will need to be replaced.

make sure you are adjusting the clutch properly... for a description on how to do that, look at the thread about bike losing power. i just explained it there

Get a new bike?? That usually helps, haha.....
