F4i ecu problem

F4i ecu problem
i have an 02 f4i and i was riding when my bike shut off and smoke started pouring out the ecu. i am buying a new ecu but i dont want the same thing to happen again. i thought it might have just got jolted to much or i might have a short, i just put on stunt headlights about a week ago and had to splice some wires to hook it up and to bypass the bank angle sensor. maybe that had something to do with it. Anybody have any ideas or had this problem before

Make sure your tip over bypass is red to green with nothing hooked up to the white wire, as far as the headlights disconnect them from your harness and run it straight to the battery with a switch. Not sure if that's the problem but it would help I guess...
