Handlebar conversion
Handlebar conversion
Has anyone tried this F.I clamps that convert it so you can put dirt bike handlebars on. I was really interested cause everywhere else I have looked its the hole triple clamp conversion and its bank. With this you have to drill into the original triple. Just hoping to get some feedback.

Re: Handlebar conversion
I've bought those FI risers for my last 2 streetfighter conversions and they're awesome! If you're going to streetfighter a 929 or 954, they're a must have due to the offset upper triple tree. They're a very simple bolt on that takes all of the guess work out of the process. Well worth the money.

Re: Handlebar conversion
Thank guys that makes me feel alot better. I will be getting them within the next week. Also just purchased a Acerbis Diamond Headlight for my 929. I have a handbrake already with the F I cage. Next and last things I need are is the 12 oclock bar and the handlebars. What handlebars are you guys going with??
Re: Handlebar conversion
If you were running anything but a 929/954, you could just drill holes, but you'll need the FI risers (or build something custom yourself to offset the angles on the triple tree) for your bike.
I'm just running a pair of Answer Pro Taper bars. One very important thing to note is that with the FI risers, you HAVE TO RUN 7/8" BARS...you CAN NOT run fat bars. Just keep that in mind, and go to your shop and buy whichever pair of 7/8" bars you like best. Look at the width and the amount of rise in the bars. With the FI risers, you're automatically going to get about 3" of additional riser (again, enough to offset those angles), so you don't want a set of bars that are bent up too tall.
I've done this with 2 954's recently, so I know what to look out for.
