99 cr250r... high speed miss cant figure it out...

Angry 99 cr250r... high speed miss cant figure it out...

i have a 99 cr 250r and with a size down from stock of a main jet #185 with a vforce 3 it misses really bad in 4,5,6th gear.it misses like its cold but its not.i can go down to a #170 and it runs fine but doesent have the power it should have. with the 185 it runs great 1,2,3erd but through the rest in the high rpms its just not there. if any one has any info it would be greatly appreciated......it killing me im getting ate up by a 93 kx .he pulls 5th gear wheelies and passes me .after third gear i cant beg the front tire to leave the dirt....... please help........

I had a 98 cr 250 that did the same thing, make sure your pet****/pet**** screen and fuel line is clear of debris. It turned out on mine a small grain of stone had lodged itself in the main jet orifice, but as much as it sounds like you've had your carb apart you have probably cleaned the inside of your carb pretty well (haven't you?). One other thing to try would be to put the stock reeds back on. Good luck.

yes i have cleaned the carb very good more tha once.. its weird because with the 170 it runs fine just lacks 250 power.you know what i mean... ill try the stock reeds and repost the results..thanks
