954/929 Throttle Cables! Please Help!

Alright, I got the streetfighter conversion all done on my 954, but the throttle cables are too short. The combined increase in height of the risers and the bars is roughly 6" over the stock location of the clip-ons, and when I turn the bars to the left, it pulls on the cables and revs the bike.

I'm going to need to go out and buy some longer throttle cables, but I need to know how long the stock ones are so that I can buy the right length. In order to pull mine, I'd have to take off the tank/airbox assembly and drain the gas. I'm hoping that someone has a pair of throttle cables just laying around that they can measure for me to save me the trouble. I need the overall length of the cables from end to end.

So does anyone have a pair of 954/929 throttle cables laying around that they could measure for me???

Thanks!

Did you re route you cables under the tank and around the inside of the neck which would be the shortest route possible to the throttle? IF not just take you throttle back off lift you tank and take you throttle around the neck and your cablles straight across and put your throttle back on. should be plenty... if not then buy new cables

Yeah, on the 954, the airbox has a little straight channel molded into it for the throttle cables to route back directly to the throttle bodies. I brought the cables straight off the bar, right through that channel, straight back to the throttle bodies.

I also used up all of the adjustments in the cables, both on the throttle bodies and at the grip. It helped, but I still need like 3 more inches.

Thanks.

get cb900 cables.

And you don't need to drain ****,just open the front fuel tank bolts and raise it up, support it up,remove the airbox lid, unbolt the bellmouths and the airbox is free, couple of sensors needs unplugging, but thats it.
