gsxr throttle assembly on dirt bike bars problem

2003 gsxr 1000

My throttle housing /ignition assembly are attached to protaper db bars when you grab the throttle the hard eoungh its slides back,if you push all the way foward it slides foward this is due to the different diameter of the bars , i cant wheelie without aggresivly grabbing the throttle how should I fix this its really dangerous I tried to pull one up and it almost got stuck.

should I jam some material in between the housing and bar and glue the plastic or thick paper in between,

Or drill two holes straight through the housing and bars I dont think the bars are thick enough for that .does any one else have this problem how do you secure your throttle assembly igniton assembly tightly so that it doesnt move .

another pain is how when yu slow down the throttle isnt responsive cause you have to be delicate with it so it doesnt slide and the ebike bogs and lurches , also my throttle gets stuck I f I hold it at any rpm particularly higher prm it wont back off I have to chop the throttle to bring it down , I adjusted the cables my cables are being pinched by the tank but even when I lift up the tank to test the throttle recoil or tension whatever you want to call it , it still stays stuck at that constant level atleast for a few seconds.

Re: gsxr throttle assembly on dirt bike bars problem

some people drill holes through the switch block and throw a nut and bolt through it. i just got some rough sand paper with the rough side against the switch block and made sure the switch block sat really tight on it. hope this helps

strips of grip tape...wrap around the bars where the switch is.. then mount switch over it.... worked for me
