htev valve on 929

anyone ever gut the exhaust valve itself out of the assembly just to eliminate it altogether? How did ya make out?

make a little bracket to hold the valve open in the exhaust. rip the cables out, leave the motor in there.

will i need to remap fuel injection? Is there any harm in just taking the valve out?

you will lose all your topend power if your want'n to get on the interstate you wont have as much power.

Just set my 929 up on a RollingRoadDyno, with a Power-commander.
Removed the valve and zipped the airbox flap closed. There is no reduction in top end power - the valve is there to slow down the gasses at low rpm.
My power curve is almost a straight line now - the injection is still a bit of a harsh on-off switch compared to carbs or a smaller Fi motor. But thats the nature of a big CC Fi motor. I had to weaken the mid-range at 3-5k rpm to smooth out the lumps in the factory power-curve.

PM me if u want the P-C map to try. Its ok for my bike (standard filter + race can).

my valve motor broke so i just unplugged and left it. the only annoying thing is that the FI light is on now. Anyone know how to shut the light off?

buy a new motor and plug it in, thats the only way, or figure out how to collapse the circut so the computer thinks its plugged in.
