Dead bike.

Hey, i went outside to clean my bike today and i noticed the rear tire was ****ed to the right and the bolts on the sprocket were eating away at my swingarm, i noticed the nut was very loose, thanks to the mechanic who put my new rear tire on. So i pulled out my tools and fixed it. then i tried to test ride it and there was no power at all. the display didn't even come on. i don't have a multimeter or any test equiptment so i can't run any tests. i am about to buy jumper cables and see if that works. i also tried to push start it in N kick it into 2nd and drop the clutch and it just rumbled a little bit but had nothing. anyways what would have caused this literally overnight? it worked fine yesterday.

Re: Dead bike.

Ok it jumpstarted fine, i don't want this to happen again. if it does is it ok to disconnect the battery when i let it sit for a few hours? Will the battery keep its charge?

Re: Dead bike.

if your battery isnt holding a charge it might be time for a new one,
or maybe even a new magneto.
which place put your tire on ?

Re: Dead bike.

the dude i bought the bike from put on the tire he runs a little garage, the axle adjusters weren't even tight when it was shipped to my house. the battery is not even a month old. my bike is a 95 gsx600f katana i'm sure it needs work. it runs nice but i can hear the valves jingleing it has 14,000 miles. how much would it cost to get my valves adjusted?

Re: Dead bike.

@ most places valves are about 4hrs in labor plus parts. Your bike might need a valve cover gasket since its a 95.
