954 Fuel Tank...HELP

I need someone who has a 954 tank sitting around to tell me a few things....

First, this is what my problem is. I needed to re-coat the inside of the fuel tank b/c of rust. Everything went ok until I put the tank back on the bike. After the bike runs for about 10 seconds it starts to POUR fuel out of the "Air Vent" hose (small hose that connects to the small nipple by the pump)

Anyway, the only thing I can think of is that some of the coating blocked part of the air vent holes or hole and the tank is building too much pressure (faster than it can escape). If I blow into the air vent the gas level will rise and it seems a little restricted.

Here is what I need.......if you have a tank laying around.

Blow into the air vent on the gas tank and let me know how restrictive the air flow is? (Is it the same restriction say as the overflow tube?)

Where is the air comming out of in the tank? I can see that the tube goes into the round donut shape molding under the lid but I am not sure if there is just one hole where it vents through, or several that may be plugged.

I can not get my whole are up though the pump hole and have NO idea WTF I am going to do to fix this........

Let me know what I asked and any suggestions..............
