Keep busting f4i radiators.

Ok, this is the second radiator I've busted. Front end bottomed out, caused a pinhole leak that looks like a syringe squirting when I shut my bike off. (I know...set 'em down easy...but **** happens.) What do you guys do? I don't see a way to mount it up higher (headers get in the way), and I can't pull it back. Suggestions? Some pvc in the forks maybe to reduce travel?

I never had a problem w/ rad leaking from bottoming out, where do you have your fork settings? maybe stiffen them up a bit and try to get on the throttle on the way down

I've never had the suspension set, I'll stiffen up a couple clicks though and see what happens. I do throttle on the way down, but sometimes **** happens and there isn't enough gear left.

Half the front fender is already gone, I'll try taking off what's left of it.

Thanks!

Re: Keep busting f4i radiators.

just jb weld or kwik steel the leaks and keep riddin. oh yea the f4i has a gayy setup for radiators. you might want to drill out the tab mount on the radiator and put a bolt thru it to keep that suker in there. it sounds like ur commin down hard so u might wanna do that before it lands on the ground one day

u have the other busted radiator still? how much

Re: Keep busting f4i radiators.

Mine broke right at the left side top mount.....ripped completely out. I got the leak welded and zip-tied the fan bracket to the frame on that side. Now it sits higher and has a little give if I drop the bike. Hasn't been a problem since.

Re: Keep busting f4i radiators.

I stiffened up the suspension a few clicks...we'll see if that was the problem.
