GSXR Fan Switch

okay i looked everywhere and found nothing. it looks pretty easy to do being that theres only like 3 wires. but i want to make sure i do everything the right way. i'd like to be able to flick a switch and turn it on, as well as have it come on automatically when it gets to 220F.

I have a 04 GSXR 600 its easy just buy a swith from auto parts store. I ran it strait from the battery and unhooked the other wires i just have to turn it on when when i need it as long as you watch your temp this is a cheap easy way one wire is your hot , one is your ground PM me if you have any other Questions.

Re: GSXR Fan Switch

just did this to my 636.........had two wires that ran into my temp sensor, peel back the coating on both wires so bare wire is showing, get a switch and mount it where you want it, run one wire off the wires to the temp sensor to one side and the other to the other side of the switch....all your doing is puttin a toggle between the two wires on the temp sensor so it kicks on when hott and you can kick it one when stuntin.....

Re: GSXR Fan Switch

im pretty sure sure your gonna need 2 switches if you wanna be able to manually enable the fan AND have it automatically kick in. One switch to break the circuit coming from the temp sensor and another to break the circuit coming from the battery all together. I would suggest just putting one switch that manually turns the fan on and off whenever you want like mentioned above ^^^. I did this mod to StillStuntin's gixxer1k and seemed to work out well for him. lemme know if you figure out a way to rig up one switch that allows you to maually turn the fan on and off while still retaining the stock 220F temp kick on tho, i would be interest in how this is done if possible ...

I wired a toggle between the + and - wires that connect to the temp sensor, didnt cut the wires just peeled some of the coating back and tapped into em so the fan still kickes on when bike gets hot......

Re: GSXR Fan Switch

but with that set up you wont be able to turn the fan on when its below 220F or whatever, that sounds like it jsut breaks the circuit coming from the temp sensor so you'll be able to turn the fan OFF when it would usually be ON when the bike is hot ... i might be retarded tho

With that set up I can turn the fan on whenever (even when the bike is off) and at 220 or so it will kick on by itself, all your doing is tappin into the circuit to be able to control it whenever....
