ok so i've got an 03 750 and my motor is garbage. just flat out garbage.
i found an 01 motor thats in pretty good shape....

are there any differences at all between the two ?

what if i tried to slap a 1000 in there ?

 

I know the 01 is different than the 02, but with using 02 throttle bodies you can use the 01. Not sure about the difference between 02 and 03 though

you can put a 1000 03 in it. i think up to 04 1000 will go in the 750 too

 

not without cutting and re-welding the motor mounts!!! Everyone thinks they are the same, trust me the 6, 7, and 1000 all haev slightly different motor mount locations

just use your wiring harnes and FI with the 01 motor, you'll be fine... unless the 01 has everything, then use that... oh and 750 to 750 between 00-03 is a direct bolt in.

 

All 750 engines (00-03) will bolt right in-there are differences in the injection and wiring, but if you just use the motor itself, you can use whatever wiring/injection you want. As for swapping it, you can if you cut/weld the front two motor mounts. All are different 600, 750, and 1000. HOWEVER, they sell kits (stupid weak brackets) to put an 03-04 1000 motor in your 600 or 750, but youll need all the wiring/speedo/computer/injection/a different airbox, and lots of other mods. Mike

I have a minty 02 750 motor for sale as well as a complete 750 with a slight knock at high RPM's.

how would you know you dont even own a damn gsxr or ever know anyone that changed a motor.

 

you could keep the 750 if you clutched up wheelies instead of throttling.
