windscreen

stopping i can't help you with but getting back on can be a challenge if you are to close to the handlebars. besure to slide back first so your leg doesn't get caught between the bar and the tank, that can be disasterous.....

What I do is push my butt back to where it is on the gas cap to give me room to get my feet around the bars and my folded back mirrors. When I swing both legs around I let go of the controlls for a sec. put one hand on the tank and push myself onto the seat. One thing I have learned is never grab your throttle grip first, more than once I have done this and rolled on the throttle without thinking. Makes for a nasty ride. It takes some getting use to and is sketchy at lower speeds.

i do the same,i push back from the bars but i grap the top center of the windscreen to keep my balance in the middle, i find it alot easier to do both legs at the same time though

I know I may sound like a dork. But I practiced getting up on the tank and back off with my bike on a rear stand. I felt a little silly doing that but I would have felt a lot worse sliding down the road because I hit the front brake lever or kill switch with my leg. There's definitly some things that can go wrong if you're trying it for the first time. Best find out at 0 Mph instead of 60.

That is a good point. I guess you have to crawl before you can run.......

i used to just put both my palms on the tank spread my legs and slide onto the seat in one quick motion. till one day i was running out of road and had to get back on the seat real quick and was being careless and my right foot hit the throtle. not fun. i had no hands on the bars and was already kinda leaning back when my foot caused the bike to wheelie and bucked me off. now i do one leg at a time and make sure i dont accidently give it gas while doin it.
so dont do what i did.

Is it better to let go of your left hand first or your right ?and which hand do you grab your bike with first after you get back on your seat?

let go of your right hand first. Always better to let your gas hand off so while you are in transition you dont accidently hit the gas. and lose your balance.
