what type of metal did you use. i have a sub frame at a machine shop they want to know what kind of metal i want them to use.

6061 T6 Alum.

Pricey as hell, but the strongest alum readily avail to the public...

Lucky for me I work the metal industry...

I did the same Idea with my 03 r6 and so far its in one piece. PS suport it before you scrape it. I welded my subframe in 5 spots 3 difrent times
