Re: dose anyone still stunt a 900 rr

I was running -1/+5, and it was PERFECT for my highway ****. Easy as **** to clutch up sitdowns/stand-ups in 3rd, and was rockin' tank wheelies all day in 2nd.

It's a little aggressive, meaning that the front end gets really like in 2nd and 3rd under hard acceleration (you'll want a damper), but I never really was into hauling *** down the highway, so I didn't miss whatever top end I lost. I just liked the 2nd and 3rd gear power.

I had a '98 motor though. The '98's and '99's had more power than the previous 900's, so if you've got a '93-'95 or '96-'97, you might wanna go up 7 or 8 in the back.

Don't go more than -1 in front though. I was -2/+2, and going to -1/+5, I saw a big difference in overall smoothness. Don't really know why, but people said I would, and I honestly did.

Good luck. Clutch it up.

- Jason

Thanx Shawn, but won't -2 damage too much the engine, frame and all the rest?

Ok! Maybe the best way is to make the same gearing that you have. What ya think? I dont need a kit for highway/slow stuff. I just will to do parkin lot stuff... In my country there is no life with the police on highways

I am running a 10 up thrust with a stock counter shaft sprocket... Seems to be a good compromise between highway and parking lot...

2 last questions:

1. What is your final advice: -2; +14 or the same gearing that you have?
2. What gear are you using when doing parkin lot stuff?

Thenk you for helping me :YEAH

If i was you I would go with the -2, and 14, you would really like that, you could always go up to a 70 in the rear but that is drastic. Personally I love the -1 +18 on mine, and if i could I would probably go 20 up in the rear, for no-handers and foot bar tricks. Just play with the gearing and see what feels best for you and how you ride. -Shawn

the 929's runs alot smoother, than the 900's. power wise they will feel about equal, both motors are doing over 130 hp, they are both sweet

Re: dose anyone still stunt a 900 rr

i'm -1 +10 and love slow and fast stuff.

I really can't wait to get fuel injected as well. I haven't had to touch my carbs either. I haven't done much to it. Just change the oil and you can beat them senseless.
