Re: high side circles

sounds like you are standing straight up after 1 circle

lean the bike in and then put your weight to the outside of the bike and use the throttle and brake to bring it around

Re: high side circles

when you are in full lean, bump the gas to make it stand up and pull in the clutch as its standing up and try stay off the brake. Practice practice practice and you will be stalling out of Os in no time. You can do it without the clutch and without trying to do a stall by just gassing out of the lean and getting on the brake as it comes up.. its all timing.

Re: high side circles

yup, if it highsides, tap the gas.............as far as the hesitation, compensate for it.........learn when you actually need to hit the gas to have it actually work when you need it.......... dont hate on the trottle in circles........thats the secret

how does hitting the gas save a highside???

when your learning and you feel a HS coming on just jab the brake and bring that ***** down quick before it gets too crooked and you get f*ckd up.

tapping the gas takes a little nerve to start doing, use little controlled flicks here and there, I usually try to roll on 30% throttle for like 1/10th of a second.

congrats on your full circle :YEAH

Re: high side circles

and stare at the pavement into the circle, target fixation is key. dont forget to be in a very constant speed. dont be slowing down or speeding up as you set up your circle.

Re: high side circles

when it starts to lean outta the circle, you tap the gas and it keeps it leaned...............................pretty simple. (note: this only applies if you are doing real circles, where you are leaned in)

When you hit the gas in the circle when the bike is starting to highside, it throws the bike behind the bp. Consequently you have to hit the brake, which slows down the circle allowing the bike to fall back into the circle. Trying to do this to save a highside would probably end in disaster unless you have circles on lock. While learning circles, i always gave up and set the bike down when i thought it was going to high side. The best advise i heard was to grab the clutch whenever you think you will highside.

The object is to NOT hit the pavement

yep.. hittin the gas stands the bike up. jowalskiMO, I think you got it backwards. The reason I said to get on the gas in my first post is because I was giving advice on how to come out of the circle when you are going around and at full lean. Get on the gas, stand it up (but time it right so it just stands up and doesnt high side or s-curve on ya.. use the clutch to make it look pretty; you can stand it up quicker and add a mute or stall). Anyways, if it feels like it is going to highside on you, slip the clutch and get on the brake a little. Hitting the gas when the bike is already highsiding is just gonna make it stand straight up and go on the bar or give you one of those oh so fun s-curve thingies that usually end up in barrel rolls if you have any speed on your Os.

Re: high side circles

I use gas to save a lowside, like if the bike is going too slow & falling in, gas it, the rear comes back under the front (if you got good lean). Little blips, light on the brake. Also, USE your arms and legs. Staggered = Stiffen left leg, bend right knee to dip bike left.

Basically.. practice. For one circle you need like 100 tiny adjustments. Correcting the problem before it happens. If you let the bike get outta line, you will fall 2 or 3 adjustments behind and its over.

true, b/c you start to loose bp and go under it, and therefore the bike is not able to do a circle anymore b/c of centrifugal force pullin it out...

the other version of highside could be when you turn unconsistant and swing it around too fast and then kill it with the brake...
