carbureted VS fuel injected F4 vs F4I
carbureted VS fuel injected F4 vs F4I
Hey I did a search and didn’t come up with a lot so I figured who better to ask then....
I’ve only really owned and stunted fuel injected ie 929
and on my quest for a 600 to stunt I came across a 200 F4. It needs a couple things so I haven’t had a chance to get out on it but my question is..
how much of a drawback is an F4 over an F4i? Should I just put it back together and sell it taking the cash and buying something Injected (just time putting it together with minimal cash to upgrade) or stay with it put on the sprockets and call it a day? This is stunt only obviously so at low speeds is there that much of a smoothness difference between the 2.. etc etc feel free to add to where Im going with the thread
thanks in advance

Re: carbureted VS fuel injected F4 vs F4I
i rock a 01 r6 with bad jetting and un sync'd carb's and its not hard to be smooth, u just gotta get use to how predictable it becomes.. and once u kill the carb'd bike u will be 10x smoother on a fuel injected bike..
Re: carbureted VS fuel injected F4 vs F4I
im rockin a 2000 now and dont have any issues what so ever. the only thing is when you drop it, its a ***** to restart em. but that will happen with any carbed bike. plus, its a honda.
Re: carbureted VS fuel injected F4 vs F4I
i like both, i dun care which. i just hate when it stalls on me, drop down grab handful of throttle and it takes off.. **** hurts yer ***.. almost happend a few times to me. mostly on the carb, stupid thing lol
Re: carbureted VS fuel injected F4 vs F4I
ive stunted both. I like the F4 better. theyre basically the same. I like the subframe better on the F4i, way better for foot in the seat
The F4 is a LOT more forgiving, but the F4i has a tiny bit quicker idle response for circles, but the F4 will cut circles no problem . I cut 4 today with my 99 F4.

lol, i thought only kawi's have shitty carbs...quess i was wrong haha
but yeah..the bad part is if your carbs arnt jetted right and not synched then it runs so bad that you don't wanna ride the bike on 2 wheels especialy 1...but if it's running right then it's good...and yeah, when you drop a carbed bike have fun getting it to start
Re: carbureted VS fuel injected F4 vs F4I
ok so ditch the f4 and go straight for an f4i for a grand more?
Ive already got this 2000f4 but if in the long run its going to be a pain in the *** im thinking i should sell... ive got a f4i tail etc for it but obvously im just worried about smoothness of the bike... cheers

Re: carbureted VS fuel injected F4 vs F4I
personally, i am fuel injection all the way, just because for me, if it doesnt run, it is usually electrical related, and pretty easy for me to fix. I have no idea how to mess with carbs, also, i like a snappy responsive bike, and out of the carbed bikes i have rode, at balance point, they all bog.......but, i have never rode an f4........
I say, if its an easy fix and sell, and you make the cash you need to pick up an f4i, do it. and sell me the f4i tail. hahahaha. only if it is a whole not cut tail.....ahhahahahahahah
