I was woundering if anyone has dented the top of a '03-'05 R6 tank in? I have seen it done but no one I ride with has done it. i need to know how far to pound it in and what to use to do it. or any other advise

rubber mallet, becareful not to crease it, cause you can rip the tank if your not carefull. leave the gas cap down and smack it.make sure you leave the cap closed. we actually fubard my cap at first, screws loosened up from the shock. just dent it till it feels kinda cumfy. oh make sure you dent it enough behind the cap. so you don't slide off the back of the tank, i'm not far enough back for spreaders my knees hit the clip ons pretty bad and i'm a short guy. just make sure not to crease it. as far as depth of the dent, till ya got a nice dish.

use your heel smash it down till it's comfortable....take the gascap out first so it doesn't crack and leak

 

wow if your gonna take the cap out make sure you don't dent it so the cap won't fit in.......take out the cap, really?

 

the cap doesn't crack the ring around it gets tweaked and can crack..
