02' gixxer 750 wheelie help?¿

sup all i jsut got my gixxer 750 a few weeks ago and i can pult the front up with no problems in first by just rolling on the throttle...
but i hate doing 1st gear wheelies! i flipped a bike a few weeks back by doing that...
so i have a question for all u 00' - 03' gixxer 750 riders
in second how fast/rpms to pull it up without the clutch? and also to do standups?
cuz everyone is telling me standups are much easier then sit downs¿?
also in 2nd do i have to clutch it up at all?
im only 120 lbs so i know it shouldnt take much effort but i seem to just get the wheel about 1' off the ground when i try to clutch it and sitting all the way back o nthe seat. and last night i tried to do a standup in 2nd and was at around 8-9k rpm and the front only came up about 2' then dropped again...
so if anyone can give me some insight on how to do these nice and smooth it would help me from flipping over again hehe
thanx

Well I'm in the same boat. I'm only 125lbs. I have the same kinda trouble with my standups, and i know its not the bike, my skillz are just weak. I almost always use the clutch in second. I roll on the gas goin' about 50 wack it wide open then pull the clutch just enough for the rpms to jump way up and then dump it back out. The front tire should come flyin up nice and smooth. Also to get the standups up make sure your bouncin on the pegs and not just the front shocks. Shut the gas fully and wack it wide open, push your feet down and forward on the pegs and lean back. This is all the stuff that works for me but I could be way off, like i said my skillz are weak. just my. One last thing, when learning remeber to cover the back break.

Ok I have no skills either but this is what I do. I would say bring your bike anywhere from 5000 - 7000 rpm's then you have to do this series of things 1. Bounce the bike 2. Get off the gas and right back on it 3. Pull it up with your arms. If you’re still having trouble go down 1 tooth on the front sprocket this will help a lot.

Do a search for standups on this site. There's some good stuff.

To bring it up in second there's no problem . You have to bring the rpm up to about 10 000 and then let go of the gas and snap it back again . The front will come up real easy . Get the sitting wheelies down first then try out the stand-ups . For the stand-ups you have to bounce the pegs and the front shocks a little and it will come up real easy . You can even do it in 3rd if you want to . Good luck and have fun...but mostly...be careful

alright guys, I have a 2000 Gix 750. its hard to do it, but if you want to do nice and easy stand up go to the bike shop. go 1 tooth down in the front. the 2000-2003 Gix 750 has a 16t front, get a 15t. I can do stand ups in second with ease. but practice bouncing the front suspension. do that around 7-8k rpms, bounce and gas it'll come right up in the stand ups. good luck guys, but be careful until ya get the feeling

does going down a tooth on the front make a big difference ? does it make it alot easier for standups, do you loose alot of top end ? sorry for all the questions.

its all about timing, on my 00 750 i would be going 50-55 hit the gas, pump and pull and up she came, i had stock gearing, but once it was over 75 in 2nd gear, it was just too high in the rev range for me, so i jus did 3rd instead lol
