but i can only clutch it up in first
i want to have a bigger sprocket in the rear
how much teeth should i get in the rear????????????
i'm thinking about 60 or something
tell me what you think and how big your sprocket is.

 

you dont need a bigger sproket you need more practice

 

it's a 98 gsxr 600 srad
and i tell you that he don't come up in second

Gearing is a very personal thing,like handgrips.Would you ask which grips to use?
Everyone rides different,and feels things differently.
One must experiment.
What one person likes,another will despise.
Not everyone likes to bounce and pull on the bars like an uncaged animal,either.

I'm going 60 but with a few different fronts so I can see what I like best. I'll probably end up using the 13 or 14 with the 60 rear. I'm used to the trials bike so that suits me more.

I have a 97 gixer 6 and it will come up in second without bouncing or pulling on standard gearing. I used to just stand up and clutch it.

its all how you work it...
go down one in the front, check that out for a lil, its like adding 3 to the back every one you go down in the front, but harder on the motor, i wouldnt go more than one down, some go 2, and after that try 6 or 7 up, get used to that.. which is where im at, and after this i may go up another 7... dont know yet, still working on it.

 

yeah go as many teeth as you can thats the answer. Second gear come on dude! Clucth it up sissy....

just clutch second,unless youre clutch is spent

 

Practice. Or maybe the clutch is slipping. I wouldn't go gearing yet unless you can master wheelie'ing your bike.
