Hey guys i ran across a good deal on some throttle bodies and injectors for a 01 gsxr 600. wondering if anyone out there has converted carb 600 to fuel injection. Wondering if the heads where the same and if this conversion is even possible

um i think 2000 is FI

 

not for 600 until 2001
2000 was the year the 750 got Fi

Well nothing is impossible, but you're not just gonna throw throttle bodies on even if they fit the head, you're gonna run into problems with the wiring harness. You'd need the ecu and wiring harness out of a fuel injected one, and i highly doubt all the sensors are the same between the two bikes so you'd run into problems there. In which case you'd probably need to by the complete motor assembly from an fi gix six and you might have to reweld the motor mounts unless they're the same, which is possible. In which case you're better off just selling your bike, using the money you were going to spend on the fi motor and just getting a whole fi gixxer.

i think i may have seen kits on ebay that convert them. Check around, i usually just search up SRAD in ebay and find alot of stuff for my 2000 gsxr 6.

 

the 00 600 is def. carb i have heard some ppl say all you need is the injectors throttle bodies and wireharness but i do agree with truestunna and i don't see the harnesses matching up uless the 01 ecu has a plug in for the injectors then you still have the wires for the carb solenoids and i just don't think it will work but my friend is convinced it will so hell i dunno i just prob leave it carb and say **** it cuz it still has plenty of power

 

close, but 750s got FI in 98.

You cant put FI on the bubblebutt 600 motor. It doesnt have any of the sensors on the engine required for FI to work and good luck if you think you can put em on there.
