Wink 954 rear brake

Hey, I was wondering if anyone had any issues with their 954 rear brake. When I'm up on one and trying to hit brake, if feels weak. I mean, the brake is not slowing the bike down until I give it a little more, which drops the bike all the way down. It's kind of like the brake is on or off and there is no in between. I was wondering if this is a common problem. If so, how did you guys fix it? I'm trying to slow everything down, but right now I can't get the brake. I have to do everything with throttle, which makes it less smooth. Any suggestions?

yep it's weak, but you get used to it. Good fluid and steel braided line may help.

Re: 954 rear brake

maybe there is still air in the system. but the brake is still little on the weak side. it's mostly just something to get used to. If you are using motorcycle boots, they may interfere with the feel. Try lighter shoes, that helped me.

Re: 954 rear brake

So is it just the rear master thats weak or the caliper/rotor setup... or just the whole combo that sucks?

I have a steel line and mine feels fine but I have nothing else to compare it to.

Nature of the beast. I wouldn't use race pads, easpecially if your gonna ride the rear brake while on a wheelie. You'll warp your rotors. If it bothers you that much look into getting a duel piston setup or something. I kinda like the weak feel because it keeps me from locking it up in a panic situation and slamming the front down.

Re: 954 rear brake

It's probably more due to inexperience than anything. When you first start slowing **** down, it does feel on or off, because you have no brake control.
