okay, so i got this f4i, and the FI light blinks like three or four times, then pauses then does it again... what the hell is going wrong with this b!tch...

 

I mean it runs and stuff, but the light flashes, and its idling at 3000......theres no idle cable, theres a screw in its place for the meantime while the cable gets shipped.......but its where it would be for 1500rpms. So what is going on................................................ ..............................

 

I know someone has had this problem............

 

theres a service manual for your bike on this site, look it up in there, it will tell you whjat it is. the site is down right now but should be back up later

this is a simple fix

just reset the ECU

under your seat theres an open connector...like something should plug into it.

this is for service.

turn the key and take it out...

Jump the connector with a wire or piece of metal. meaning theres 2 holes in the connector, just jump those so they connect.

turn the bike on and off a couple of times then start it.

shut it off take out the jumper and now its reset.

 

this is true but a shop manual will tell you wat 4 blinks means. its honda's way of giving u a code, for example my bike blinked 9 times and it was an air sensor on top of the air box. but reset it first then if the code comes back u have to fix w/e is wrong to make it go away

 

yeah dude, it turns out that it was nine times. I went up to the dealership and made the service guy print out the code pages.... so, theres no air sensor on the top of the airbox, and I cant even find the connector for it in the harness.....wtf now? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm............catach, did your bike run fine without it? or did you have to fix it? If it will run fine, I dont care about fixing it, but if thats whats causing it to idle high, forget that, like I know some cars go into a safe mode, and run more fuel in the event of a check engine light.....

mine just started doing the same thing today, runs fine so far, mine only blinks a few times before it pauses, going to go ride in a lil while, if i run in to any problems imma just rip off the tank and go through it.

 

the connector is linked to the map sensor harness thats where it should come from

yea, mine seems to run fine, wheelies and all, i dontknow if i started it without something connected and it set the light off.

 

right on sounds good. it runs fine and all, just at 3000, guess I will see what happens when the idle cables come in....Judd if you let me know how many flashes you got, I can tell you what the code means, I have the pages printed out right here.....

 

i counted it and it was nine also. i was able to adjust my idle with the stock idle cable too. i havent got the other idle cable yet.

 

mine ran fine, actually the sensor isnt hooked up now, makes no difference from wat i can see, i just twisted the wires together cuz they were cut and now they are disconnected but i have no gauges so i dont care. but ya runs fine, idles fine. thats not ur issue
