if it cracks around the weld, it means the work was overheated. ive heard people brag, look how strong my weld is, it broke next to the weld. no you used too much heat and or got so much penetration it erroded your ****

I have the same issue on my 00 750, cracked on both sides up towards the front of the tank where it bends to go up toward the steering head. There's a weld on the inside of the bend and it cracked on that and has worked it's way up and around the top and is now working down the side of the frame, not good. I'm gonna get it welded in a couple days.
