Ok, i need some help here. I can do sitdowns pretty good right now, but i cant do standups worth ****. The last time i even tried to do a standup i flipped it backwards and bent my handlebars. Do you use the backbrake when your standing? It always seems like i will flip the bike backwards. I know i should just practice, but are there any tips from you pros out there? Thanks
def cover your back brake, and stand ups are easier than sit downs( in my opinion) remember you are higher than ya think when standing, what i mean is when you do a sit down, you can tell how high you are due to staring at the tank in front of ya,stand ups come TO YOU, your body doesnt sway back like if you were sitting, try not going as high and get someone to vidoe tape ya,you will make a mental note of how high you are compared to how you are standing, pay attention to where/and how far your arms are bent. but seeing your self do them is a great crituque of your wheelies.

Yeah I agree. Stand-up's are seem easier. When I was learning I would start to pick it up from a sitting position as the front end started to rise I would stand up. After a while a could put the windscreen to my chest and walk dat *****.

What I like to do is stand up first & then bounce it up instead of clutching it up, until I get used to a safe height & then go back to clutching it up . This will give you a sense of security , I fell some times it is easier to throw your body forward then hitting that back brake , but definetly get used to covering the back brake. I'm no pro but that worked for me

I just started doing stand ups myself. I found i was scared too but if you can bounce the suspension into the stand up and you will be able to control it more by bringing it to a comfy height. plus you'll save your clutch some ware and tare till ya get used to the feeling. once you find the balance point, then start poping the clutch on your stand ups. if you even need to, drop a tooth in the front sprocket. also helps allot with the bouncing.

good problem to have
Sounds like you have a good problem here...most people are chasing the front end until they hit the rev limiter to keep it up....So if you have flipped it backwards then you aren't having a problem getting to the balance point. At this point I would pay attention to throttle control....when you get the bike up (clutchin or bouncin it) get it up to the point where the bike isn't gaining any more revs and you speed stays constant (you should be at the balance point)..at that point very slight throttle response is neccessary..if you wick it at that point you probably will loop it....What helped me was standing way tall over thfront of the bike with my head forward to give me a better feel of how high I was...also I totally agree with slider- video helps..After a while you will be able to do it off of feel....also you make take the PSI down on the rear tire...just my
im also learning and i got sitdown pretty good, but it scares me to do stand up, after seeing my friend fall yesterday doing first gear standup.. ( he poped his ankle bone came out of his skin) nasty stuff.. how do i go about doing the stand up. should i stry doing it in first or second or it doesnt matter?? help help help
