Worried
I'm an inexperinced rider and have a tendency to drop bikes at extremly low speeds like 5mph or non moving....
I've only dropped it three times since I started riding but the one yesterday on a gravel road it got stuck in this valley of gravel and I dropped it really got me worried it bent my rear bake all the way to the exhaust but I fixed it.
Anyways... I heard if you drop your bike the case will crack and start to leak oil leaving me stranded somewhere and if I'm riding alone that would suck ***.
Is there anything I can do to prevent that from possibily happening besides not dropping the bike? Frame sliders, Engine cage?
It's a 1999 Ninja 250R but I found a place to mount some long frame sliders on with help from Rocky... an experinced stunter, would that help prevent leaving me stranded somewhere?

Re: Worried
I'm fine going decent speeds but low speed on gravel and i drove into a valley of gravel where it caved in on both sides I dropped it... If I turn my handlebars too much they pinch your hand, maybe that's not normal but it makes me drop my bike.

Ok, not to keep bashing you, but from what I can tell on here (not much) you seem to have the mentallity that makes you think since you haven't crashed at highspeeds yet, your fine to go fast. I am young(er) but I know this just ain't the case. Ever heard the saying learn to walk before you run? Same thing goes for riding. If your falling at low speeds, maybe you should think about slowing it down. Just my $0.02 though.

Re: Worried
I have slowed it down tremendously I actually have listneed to every SINGLE person's advice that gave me in the other thread I am just having problems at low speeds because if I turn the handlebars to sharp it pinches my hands and I drop the bike.... I don't know why it does this Tollsey said his F4i doesn't do it and he can adjust the handlebar height.

motorcycle instructors at race tracks say that they can tell how good of a rider a person is by watching them pull into the parking lot. If you're having problems controlling it going slow then you shouldn't be trying to control it going really really fast, yet. Take some time in a parking lot and learn to turn it going like 1-2mph. You want to lean the bike into the turn and have your body haning off the other side of the bike,
Re: Worried
how much do you weigh dude? those ninja 250's are the lightest bikes ever, i rode a friend of mine's once because he bet me i couldnt wheelie it and when i went to start it up i for some reason assumed it was in nuetral popped the clutch out the bike launched a bit and i caught it at like 40 degrees from teh ground. Im not a strong guy, i weigh like 160, my point is how the hell are you dropping such a light bike? just put your feet down and grap the mother****er, and you probably wont break anything dropping the bike from a standstill especially if you still have the plastics on.

Woah...kelm, you even brought this celebrity out! Hey Mitch, everything still fast and danger?
And Kelm, man...seriously, go to a parking lot, practice u-turns, right and left handed ones. Get good at controling your bike when it's going slow, because it's harder to control when you're going faster. You think you're decent at higher speeds you say, but let me ask you... Ever have to dodge a 5 gallon pain bucket, in a hard right turn, downhill, going around a 115? I'd bet not. If you can't handle your bike going slow, you'll eat the paint bucket, and the ground. Please man, work on just riding that thing well before you get crazy on it.
