Exhaust pipe getting in the way.

I have been workin on slower 1st gears for a couple of weeks now and I am starting to feel real at home using the rear brake to control the height. I tend to take things slowly and I admit that I am not quite ready to start trying 12s, but I have a growing concern for the length of the exhaust can scraping when I start getting closer and closer to 12. I have seen a couple friends eat **** from hitting the exhaust and getting kicked sideways. How the hell do I shorten the can? I have seen lots of stuntbikes with little bitty cans on em. How the hell do they do that? I was thinking of cutting a section out of the middle and riviting them back together with a strip of thin metal. Anyone have any ideas other than zipties or ductape?

Depending on the pipe u can drill the rivets out of the end cap,cut the pipe and drill and re-rivit the end cap back on.
What kind of pipe is it?

just did a TBR can as described above. If yours has rivits ,Im sure it can be done. Or, get a slip-on from a wrecked bike and cut that one. Give speedlimitcycle.com a call @ 1-708-339-2330 talk to Jerry. They might have 1.
