I tryed to dent in my F4i tank but it won't dent in.
I broke my gas cap from hitting on it and you see some strange lines in the middel?

Please help with denting my tank an how to do it?

 

with a plastic mallet hit around the edge of where you want the dent to be, to start the crease; just start the crease, don't make it deep. then jump on the gas cap. finally clean it up with the mallet. works mint

 

or stop bein a pretty boy and stomp that b1tch in with your foot.

Dancing on it put it wont dent in..

I'm thinking of using a press.

 

Stomp harder with your heel right behind the cap. get it started good like that then use a rubber mallet or dead blow hammer to shape it how you want it. ALSO, don't dent in the front. There's no use for it. Just form around the cap and back.

 

i didnt have any probs with the heel of my boot but then again i weight 203lbs

 

rubber mallet works great 10 good whacks and it should be perfect

 

tanks have a dome shape on them for strength just stomp on it till you break that dome. then use a mallet to get it shape.

 

like i already said, it will cave pretty easy if you start the crease where you want it with a mallet.

 

i wouldnt use a press you night accidently go through it...

I put a buddy of mine on the tank he is BIG..

I let him dent the tank ith his foot dancing on it it worked like a charme

just flip the bike a few times...you may not get the dent where you want it, but it seems to work

 

once your denting it in if you want to you can bondo it and smooth it out so you dont have all those crazy creases in it. works for me, my

 

use a phone book and a rubber mallet.

 

how exactly does that phone book method work? ive heard it mentioned before, but never how to do it.

 

It disperses(sp) more evenly on the tank then the 3 in round head of the mallet, therefore eleminating multiple dent marks. ( just a guess )

 

I meant how do you do it

 

Lay phonebook on top of tank where ya want the dent, and start whacking away. Try to hit the center of the book, and this should help disperse the force in a more even, larger area.

Anybody else know how to do this? Like i said, ive heard it talked about before, but never explained.....i would think it would take a pretty good hit to dent it through a phone book.....on my 929 i just jumped on it and it came out perfect
