So when you come down from any kind of wheelie, the impact causes the engine to die, almost enough to throw you over the front, then it picks up again after a split second... and this is happening every time with an '01 F4i, why is this... anyone?? thanks

 

somewhere, the sheilding has been worn off a wire. When you land, it temporarily gorunds it out.

Have you dropped your bike recently? If so, what side?

It kinda sounds like you have a short but I guess it could be fuel too, check your battery cable first.
Also, check to make sure your spark plugs are secure.

I say these things cause you should check the little things first.

Does the bike have any other strange charictaristics while riding?

Have you done anything to the bike recently? (exhaust, air cleaner ext.)

Do you have excessive vibration?

 

Also, how high and how long are these wheelies? It might be the tip over sensor

 

thanks man, from slow wheelies and the tip sensor is bypassed. sounds to me like i need to find the short in the system or tighten spark plugs.

 

I Would Double Check Your Wiring At The Tip Over Sensor Too.
