changing frame

Just got a hold of a frame since i dented the one i have on now, i am no bike mechanic and was wondering for those that have done this themselves, is it hard to do, because me and a friend might do this ourselves, or should i just let a bike shop do this?

Re: changing frame

you're changing the frame because you dented it?

Re: changing frame

i slid out on a turn and the bike hit a curb and dented the frame pretty good, it runs straight but looks real ugly lol.

Re: changing frame

forget letting a shop do it, cost WAY too much and i wouldn't trust that it was done right!!! it's definately doable at your home shop, it will take some time the first time you do it and i would definately have friends to help. Gotta learn sometime! see if there is someone in your area that has experience with wrenchin on bikes to help. Offer to buy pizza and beer if he comes by to lend a hand! lol we've done a few and can do it quick now. good luck
