636...Fullthrottle handbrake setup

Sup guys. I'm curious as to how most the guys here with 636s have their handbrake setup or anyone for that matter? Seems it will only fit with brake on the top and clutch on bottom. Who rocks brake on top? Feedback on anybike is welcome.. here's how I have it setup so far.. Haven't run the lines yet. Just got it last night and worked on it some this morning after work. Seems like it's going to be a fun project

I have the rear brake on the bottom on both of my bikes, and i shaved down the clutch lever on one of them. Works perfect. I would definatly swap that if i were you

Re: 636...Fullthrottle handbrake setup

i cant really tell from the pics, but can you pull the the clutch lever up higher, and give yourself some more room below it? or is there something else that is getting in the way?

My clutch lever sits up much higher than yours, thats why i have room. Angle it higher, see if you can then squeeze the brake in there. other than that, i would just wait to see what other peeople have to say

my buddy has his HB on the bottom of his 636....he just raised his clutch lever up so the HB would fit under it...the clutch lever is at a funny angle but he said he got used to it and it doesnt bother him now.

Get rid of that clutch master!!!! They are garbage and replacement levers are expensive.

Re: 636...Fullthrottle handbrake setup

moving the clutch higher on the clip-on will also help you on leverage for clutching. I did that on my 929 and it's ****.

And my handbrake lever is underneath the clutch lever.

Oh okay so I can just angle the clutch lever up some? It'll work that way just though it'd be hella weird

Re: 636...Fullthrottle handbrake setup

What's wrong with clutch on the bottom. I"m sure it's just a matter of preference. Thanks for the advice guys

when your up on a seat stander and your on the brake if it is on the top its a really hard angle becuase your arm is angle down then you have to grab up for the brake i had mine like you do now first time i tryed i changed it.....but there aint now law or nothin all wat you perfer player

Re: 636...Fullthrottle handbrake setup

My boys hb is on top on his F4i and hes runnin his clutch perch below it. Kinda felt weird at first but I like it now. Kinda weird though cause if you aint used to it u try and pull in the brake as a clutch and that dont work out to good. LOL Good luck with whatever you do man.

Peace Justin

Re: 636...Fullthrottle handbrake setup

The disadvantage to having the brake on top (besides the goofy angle of your wrist while standing on the seat) is that if anything goes wrong, you will grab for the brake instead of the clutch.

You can remove the clutch switch for more room and just connect the wires together...bike will start in gear then, but who normally starts their bike without pulling the clutch anyway- norm switch set-up would not let you.
