I'm having problems finding the bp on my 99 zx9 in first gear and second. In first I’m going like 10-15 and pull it up but it is so twitchy that it will come up real fast then if I let off a little and twist the throttle back on it comes up extremely high but I still can't find the balance point no matter how high I feel .I feel like I’m going to flip because the front is like 5 feet of the ground in first. And in second gear I’m going like 30-40mph and can pull it up just with throttle but again I can't seem to balance it not matter what I try. So what I'm really asking is how did you get over the fear of coming up to high and does anyone with a zx9 have any advice they can give me on the bike with wheelies and the bp. Last year I went 1down and 3up.Also how much of a difference does it make standing up vs sitting down on the bp of the bike if any.Thanks any advice would be appreciated.

 

In first, sitting down, on that bike feels sooooo freaking high. Good luck with that...

But standing on the ZX9 is much easier IMO. Its a twitchy bike. Try bouncing it up in second or third. I learned on the ZX9 in third. Its a hard bike to wheelie though, but can definitly be done. Good luck man

 

I had a buddy of mine ride a zx9 and he said he had a hard time finding it. He said you were either there or past it was real small. This was a few years back and he didnt know how to use his rear brake but he could ride his GSXR on one for miles.

 

do you stand before bringing it up or while bringing it up?

 

stand while bringing it up if your goal is to loop

 

i had an 02 zx9r and i could ride a 2nd gear standup for 1/2 mile or so. do standups with left foot on back peg and bring the front end up till the windshield touches your chest and you should be in bp.

zx9 is a hard bike i get on my buddys gsxr and i actually look like i know what i am doing once you master it you will be good on any bike you get on

 

The ZX 9 does not have a balence point.

I got really good on the ZX9, then I got my CBR900rr. I could automatically ride BP seatstanders, stagered wheelies, and regular standups.

 

yeah, you gotta buy a balance point for it right??
