I'm not sure what's wrong but whenever I rev it real high and drop the clutch it acts really weird. Say like 4th gear, you can pop the clutch and the front won't lift much at all. So if I rev it up and drop the clutch at like 4-5-6k over road speed it will grab and jerk foreward, normal, and then the lever shoots back in and disengages the clutch and then engages again. So revs will jump up again and then the clutch will pop again, but without me trying!
This also happened to me just yesterday in 2nd, I was racing (sorta) another guy on a bike and was in 2nd but then he took off so I rode the clutch to get going instead of dropping it down into 1st. And again, while I was still hard on the gas the clutch did the little disengage fully and the re-engage thing.
Now I can clutch it up in 1st just fine, but that's just slipping the clutch, and it feel real strong, so I'm pretty sure it's not slipping at all, it's just I've never heard of this happening before.

 

Your clutch is probably shot.

 

how so, what would cause it to do that? It's not slipping at all that I can tell, and I can clutch it up in 1st and 2nd all day, but when I start trying 3rd where I have to rev it real high it does this like every other time. Really weird.
And I can accelerate hard all the way up to redline without the clutch slipping.

 

common, anyone???? I've posted this in another board and no-one had any answer's. I need to get this figured out.

 

i had a problem close to that it was one of the steel clutch discs came apart

4th gear, redline, clutch drop!?!?!?! Don't know for sure what the problem is but I got it narrowed down as to where it came from.

 

i wasnt doin no fourth gear clustch pops i kill my my clutches at the track launching eats up my steels i take them out every other time and take them to napa and get them bead blasted cause riding the **** out of the clutch to get a good launch glaze's them all up the time it broke was a heat cracked one i mistakenly put back in

 

No I was agreeing (X2) with you that a plate could have been broke and was stating that "OLD BOYS" problem was the 4th redline drops. LOL

haha, I know I know, I'm just saying that instead of 1st gear redline drops. It's pretty much anytime I rev real high and drop it. So if it's one of the steels that came apart or something, why doesn't the clutch feel weird at all? Normal riding and even some hard launches all feel solid, wouldn't something like that make a big difference all the time, not just on hard drops?
What do I need to do to check this out?
