My tire doesn't always grab right and sometimes it will slip. I tried droping the front psi to 15lbs., it helped a little. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Unfortunately, I don't have much time right now. Gotta get to work, but I'll suggest this. If you are trying a lot, and not getting it I'd assume your body positioning is way back or you're just not getting the braking input down yet. If you are getting really frustrated trying, and are not going to stick with it maybe do this. Instead of going for stoppies first, try an endo at a stop. Meaning riding along at speed in a perfectly straight line brake moderately w/the same consistent pressure all the way down to like 4 or 5mph at which point just STAB IT. You'll probably lift the rear a foot off the ground which will get you used to the feeling, but at the same time if you go down you're only going 5mph... in stead of 25.
Tips: --If it's rising too quickly, get off the brake! --Be ready to bring a foot down when you come down as you probably will begin to fall to either side. --If you succesfully bring it up, on the way back down KEEP ON THE BRAKE, or you will roll backwards from the forks rebounding & you will again most probably fall to either side.

Good luck...

Sounds like your not pre-loading the front-end. Make sure to grab enough brake first to load the suspension, and get the weight on the tire. Then you grab a handfull to lift. Could also be your just too abrupt, or the obvious... dirt/gravel on the road. Also, put the air back in your tire. I see people ride crazy long stoppies @30 psi. I have never lowered my pressures front or rear for stoppies or wheelies. Agreed I'm not riding 2 mile 100 mph wheel-stands, or 100 foot plus stoppies(... YET) , but still never have felt the need to lower pressures.

Have fun.. Be safe.. I'm off to my night job..

Counter steer with your shoulders and it should straighten out. A lot of the turning is due to body position and how much weight you are putting on each grip.

Just like VERTJ says, you are probably unconciously overweighting a clip-on or peg. Be safe, and let us know how you're progressing.

Yea once you hit that balance point real fast, you can start upping the speed to like 80 or 90mph. A Steering damper always helps for stabalizing...

Smooth sailing from there.

i too have that problem of my rear wheel floating to one side or another....mostly to the right. It sucks. Also, when i get up to the balance point i get hella wobble. I get my scott's damper tomorrow so hopefully that will help so i can ride it out at the balance point.

anyone around indiana area that might want to ride with us? i could use some pointers or even help some newbies out.

Again congratulations on your progress, but I gotta tell you... the odds on you NEEDING a damper is slim. I hear a lot of that, and not just in stuntlife... in life as well. There is not always a band-aid. Sometimes you just need to work more, and the odds are that is human error before mechanical. Case in point, listen to KUTZ as that is the most common reason for headshake. Don't get me wrong. You might have a legitimate problem with the bike. For example, on my gixxer when trying stoppies at 60mph+ I would immediately get headshake. I tried for ever, beating myself self up inside my head, telling myself it was my own inadequacies but then after inspecting the steering head nuts I realized they had loosened by almost 7 pounds. That immediately alleviated most of the headshake. Yes, fact remains that if I was more talented I could ride through it, but now at least I can be assured it's not mechanical error. So my long winded point here is I know that you have been putting in your time & practicing, but in the grand scheme it's only been a month. Try more elbow grease before shelling out $300 for a damper... unless of course your rich & it doesn't matter! Stay safe buddy.
