Re: rollin long endos

i stiffened my rear and softened the front juuuust a little bit, and this was after testing out different settings, like super-soft front, which made the forks "sink in" during the endo and scared the shiite outta me, i found it to be helpful having a stiffer rear not only for endos but turning also. If you want the exect susp. specs let me know and i'll grab them for you, i've got a 04 RR too.

Re: rollin long endos

it's all in your riding preference. Firm and crisp, will keep the headshakes away a little more. hard to bring up, if it's too soft, and will lock up if it's too hard, lol.

Just play around with it. Honestly just make sure your front end doesn't feel sloppy, and just get used to your bike it it's on setting.

It's more techinque than settings. Far as brake pads go, run whatever your running. I like stock because they are smooth as glass, and last a long time. But you can run whatever (I used GOLD, cheap set off ebay, for almost a year, hahha)

Stock suspension here, and I can't say enough about the Bridgestone BTO14 for front, it's the first tire I've felt comfortable running stock air pressure and doing long endos. I'll have to try dropping the pressure this weekend and seeing what they can really do.

Re: rollin long endos

pirelli race take offs...

stiffen up your rebound to a couple lines out from full stiff.

stiffen BOTH your rebound and compression damping (rebound is up top, compression down below) to a few clicks out from full hard.

the logic is this. increased damping and preload eliminates any pogoing of the forks and also eliminates nose dive. when you eliminate the variables you can start rolling longer. dont hump the tank. lock elbows, lock shoulders, use only the front brake to bring the bike up...now you have isolated the varibables and the only thing that can change the endo is your grip on the front brake.

rear suspension has zero to do with endos, although it is helpful to stiffen it up for the slap down after you have rolled that ***** to a stop.
