adjusting to gearings

Well, I have done exactly what you guys have told me. I have waited till I can ride BP wheelies forever before gearing. I've also been practicing tapping on the rear brake while im riding. So I'm still riding stock gearing. I was reluctant about changing the gearing, but I think that it will really help me with the newer tricks im learning now, like highchairs. I need it to be easier to bring up the front when my 200lbs is sitting over the handlebars.

So I guess my question is, will I have to learn a whole new technique to wheelies once I gear it? Because right now I can wheelie forever in any gear, but I pretty much suck in first gear ( can do it, but the engine screams the whole time) . If I gear it, am I going to have to relearn everything because im used to using 2nd and 3rd gear? I usually stunt from 40-60mph. I want to start learning the slower stuff more also. But I definitly want to be able to cruize down the highway faster than normal traffic.

I was thinking about going +8, and if I ever wanted more I could just drop a tooth in the front. BTW, this is a 900rr.

Re: adjusting to gearings

It's not so much learning a new technique. You gotta get used to throttle control being the bike will be twichy with gears.

Twitchy yes, but it's soooo worth it... I find it much more fun to ride now cuz I like to shift. riding around the streets, you can shift thru your whole range and love it. Skip a few gears if you want etc... it's so much fun. Oh, and my I can put my bike in 6th, let out the clutch and it'll start going.. it's hilarious. (And yea, it'll make a world of difference for your highchairs too.)
