I've got a 2004 GSXR 600 and I keep breaking subframes. I know other people have had this issue b/c I've seen people talking about it on here. I've tried boxing the subframe in with diamond plate, but apparently I'm not doing it right. Is there anybody that's found a good fix for this? I really like my gixxer, I don't want another bike, I just want the ucking tail to quit falling off.

I've seen pictures of custom steel subframes--I know SOMEBODY out there makes them--the first to sell them will BANK guaranteed. Speak up if you do--lets hear it fabricators...MXD? RSX929RR?

 

Brace the subframe all you want...It will just break somewere else.

 

It's not going to break my main frame, I'm not parking my bike on the bar and I don't EVER slam my bike on the bar. I can barely tap the bar and it cracks the subframe. I just want to be able to scrub the bar without breaking something. I've heard of people using an 03 1000 subframe, has anybody done that here? What's involved?

Look... One of the guys I ride with built a BOLT ON support that looks clean. He scrapes his styt every time he rides, usually not hard but he has slammed the bar on occation and his has NOT broken yet....
My wife took my camera to so cal for the weekend but as soon as she gets back I'll post pics. His fix works.

 

my boy deltonastunna has broken many subframes and 2 frames so i think he knows whats up!!!

 

and that's just from trying new ****, I don't even have a bar

 

is this just with suzuki or is it a notorious problem for alot of bikes?

i seen that happen today and hes hit it like that a couple times and his ***** not going to break. its not that big of a deal

ok ive been talking to a few guys out here in cali....so far i have 3 guys that want subframes for these bikes.... i will make a subframe out of steel, it will be solid, just like the stock but it wont break. i need to get at least 5 more orders though in order to make it worth my time and money invested. if anyone wants one, let me know....they will be priced around 200-300 im not sure yet because i dont know how much material & time will be involved.

 

You better be making frames then too. It's just gonne snap off the tabs on the back of the frame instead of the sub. I would rather just weld up my sub if i break it.
