first day stunting ever

i started the day trying to clutch my 900rr in second gear from a stand still....while my foot was braking the rear tire.......
i did alright with that, even though i couldnt keep the bike up for too long i felt real comfortable doing it.......
then my friend convinced me to get used to riding wheelies period so i began to do throttle wheelies in second gear.......as much as i tried my instinct to get off the gas once the bike was at like 10' o'clock always kicked in....
lets just say i didnt like that feeling too much

so i stuck to clutching from a standstill in 2nd and my forearms are killing me(i will have to practice more tommorrow, but unfortunately i cant call out again just b/c it is nice out!!! :YEAH )

Questions:
1-do you need to know how to do fast wheelies in order to do slow ****...b/c i am nice on my 1000 but have never tried to wheelie it(too pretty, and too broke)
2-does anyone know of any good spots where i can go practice in L.I.(p.m. me,preferrably nassau and western suffolk...deer park the farthest)

Re: first day stunting ever

learn a regular balance point wheelie befor you try slowing stuff down. I learned BP doing first gear standups at around 35-40 MPH tops then one day thought "im goin to try slow stuff" after probably the 6th wheelie ive ever clutched from a complete standstill i looped....

Now this season ive started in on slow stuff again because ive got alot more brake control/throttle control over last season and i know what "oh **** im goin to flip" feels like. Ive got staggered standups down to about 15-20 MPH but that still isnt considered "slow stuff"

Anyone can wheelie a 1000 at fast speed just wack the throttle and pow pow power wheelie heh. Gotta learn that Balance point or else your bound to wreck.

Re: first day stunting ever

too late.........just came from around the corner where i dropped the 900.......clutched it up in 2nd from a stand still.......was riding for about 5 car lengths and thats when it happened..

i pulled the bike too far hit the 12bar,got a little shook so i slammed on the rear brake........but when i came down i stayed on the gas and that was that.......
nailed the gas on accident the bike went flying.....

damage:
bent dirtbike bars.....broken starter switch....REALLY dented tank....d&d shorty pipe half off where the rivets are

hurt ego.............all in all a good day........except i am in a lot of pain!!!!!!!!lol hurt both my wrists(scraped up)as well as my forearm.......F@#! it! **** happens...stay safe

Good stuff. First stunt crash (and I don't mean dropping your bike) is like a test to see if this is realy what you want to do. Especially if you get hurt. Glad you're still with us. You are still with us aren't ya?

Re: first day stunting ever

You reckon you're trying to learn a bit fast?? First day out and you're going for slow stuff and hitting the 12 bar already? Seems like you're trying to rush it a bit.. ?!

Re: first day stunting ever

Well, first day in a parking lot I went behind balance point my F2 back when the throttle stuck I jumped off and did a 180 with the bike managing to get my foot stuck behind the tail and rear tire, for some reason I was going walking speed.
