636 spittin up oil?
636 spittin up oil?
Ive just started trying slow stuff with my 636 for about 2 days now. Was slowing down 2nd gears all day riding around with no problems. Then I went to a side road and practiced 1st gear slow rolls for about half an hour straight. When I got off the bike there was oil all over the swingarm, shock, and rear fender. Any idea where this oil is spillin out of?
Re: 636 spittin up oil?
I guess I need one of those PCV valves? I didnt expect 12's to come this fast thats why I didnt prep the bike with one already.
Any idea where I could get one of those valves? Like what kind of store would carry those in stock?

Re: 636 spittin up oil?
You can get them from auto zone or anywhere like that.
Ive got a bad oil leak now and its coming from the seal where the counter shaft goes in the crankcase. It causing oil to leak back on my swingarm and etc. That might be your problem.

Re: 636 spittin up oil?
Doubt its the countershaft seal the bike only had 3000KM on it, and it only started spillin when I was 12in for half an hour straight. Thanks though I think we have Auto Zones here in Canada so I'll try them tommorrow. Im guessing I need like a 3/8 or 1/2 PCV right?
Re: 636 spittin up oil?
Lifted the tank and the crankcase breather hose slipped off the airbox inlet, thats why the oil spilled all over the bike instead of into the airbox. Has this happened to anyone else? Gonna try and get a PCV valve today after work before I try ne more 12's, but do you think I should get a new air filter? I dont think the Kawi filter is washable
Re: 636 spittin up oil?
I know what your going through but as far as the hose that connects to the crank poping off that never happened to me but here is what you are going to need to do for your 636. Advance or Autozone go buy about 3 feet of ½ inch heater hose and two PCV valves made buy Deutsch part number PCV147 also buy 5 metal clamps to clamp on to your ½ hose when putting in your PCV valves. Okay here is all I did and NO smoke and I like to ride my bar time to time.
1. Remove tank
2. disconnect hose that goes from crank to air box
2. plug off air box end
3. okay now grab your new ½ hose and connect it to the crank
4. once connected fish the remaining hose to the left of the bike just below the throttle cables and frame
5. run it to the radiator and some how zip tie it in place now here is where your bikes engine will breath from if you like later attach a small air filter also sold at auto parts stores easy plug in for ½ line
6. PCV valve time okay from the crank end about 3 inches cut the line and install one PCV147 clamp both ends tight then go up about 8 inches and put in another PCV147 clamp both ends and the remaining hose will run to breath at the radiator area.
7. Now your bike cant get oil into your air box possibly causing your bike to HYDRO lock down the road and it still can breath without letting oil get past the second PCV valve. Look if you need more help drop me a line if need be I can shoot you a pict. I run my oil near the top of the fill sight glass and scrape it an easy 40 feet no oil coming out or smoking. :YEAH check out a small clip www.cycledelix.net video I am Jorge A.K.A HO HEY
