Rear peg or bar?

Just beginning to learn slow wheelies on a F3. When trying to learn the standups is it easier to put left foot on rear peg or put it on the bar? Any help would be appreciated?

Re: Rear peg or bar?

im still not comfortable with my foot in my bar,in my opinion its easier to step off the bike incase you have to save it,so id prolly wait til your comfortable on the pegs then go for foot in bar.

foot in the bar is easier with all your weight on the back of the bike but it takes some getting used to because it moves around alot

yep, foot on rear peg gives you better side to side balance. I think it's easier to learn brake control and slow stuff that way. however, you need to learn foot in the bar cause it frees your hands up and letsyou control the bike more (it lets you steer it better).

So i would LEARN with foot on rear peg, but then start to try foot in bar as soon as you feel comfortable with foot on rear peg

eventually you should master BOTH cause that just helps you become a better rider!

Passenger Peg is plenty fine for learning slower stuff. I can pull up my F2 from a dead stop but cant dial in BP till im goin about 20 MPH but im gettin there... All about the rear brake and gettin it to BP as quick as possible without droppin to low or even worse to far back.

I do keep my foot out of the bar, its in the trunk!!!

i just started doing that though, i've been rockin foot in bar for a long time, what is it that you guys think is soo bad about it?!?!?!

I think that to be a really good rider you should be able to ride ALL ways:
Foot on rear peg
foot in bar
foot in trunk
foot on seat
sitdown (definately makes a lot of tricks look better)
etc.
(and i don't mean just be able to ride all those ways, i mean being able to pull your tricks in all of those positions!) makes you a well rounded rider!

Hey bro, I have a question for you. do you have to drill holes in your subframe for a F.I. bar?? And if so, how would I make the subframe strong again?
Thanks

Re: Rear peg or bar?

i dont know how the FI bar mounts up. Ive been running a 905 bar without the extra scrape plate for two years now. they mount with three bolts on each side.

There is no need to worry about making the subframe strong again on the GSXR's, cause by putting the bolts in you are re-inforcing it, and i've NEVER seen one break by the bolts, only down by the tabs where it mounts to the frame and occationally in the middle. Ed1000 Legion made me a custom re-inforcing brace that connects to my shock tower and then to all four legs of the sub, it makes it really hard to break subframes.

If you have a banana seat, putting your foot on it isnt as good as you're used to. Far less control than if you had a separate back seat because theres nothing solid.
