Re: How to ride a wheelie at 70-80 on a stock 600?

i had a stock f4i and i cluched them up in 2nd. if u start standing up before u launch the wind helps get u up. im no pro but it worked. by the way the death of that bike was i looped out doing it. it has the power w/ stock gearing. i must have done it a thosand times before that happend. one day i was a lil overconfident and comfortabe. im not sure if that techniquie is the best way but thats how i got it done on a f4i.

Re: How to ride a wheelie at 70-80 on a stock 600?

if u wanna ride them 75-80 and hold them out i think ur gonna have to shift. the only way i can do it is no clutch right after the bike is up in 2nd. bring it past the balance point. let of and click it at lower rs. i know thats wrong but i couldnt do it w/ the clutch. at the higher rs the bike wont shift. i hear people say they can get them up in 3rd but i never could. they say the no clutch thing is very bad. it seemed to drop in very easy and smooth. but i would get more advice on that technique.

umm, if you can clutch it up in 2nd, then you should be able to do 60-70 mph wheelies.

yeah fast hasn't been cool since like 2002..and don't tug on the bars, unless u wanna be super tank slapper guy, just bounce with your legs while u' clutch it, i have a stock geared f4i, and i'll lift up 2nd at about 55 max, either clutch it to bp, or chase it a lil to you're at the speed u want, then kick it back a lil farther, i dunno about u but i hate bein on the highway in a 2nd gear and seein the R's at like 11500, makes me wanna throw up

Re: How to ride a wheelie at 70-80 on a stock 600?

You are going to need to have the bike in the start of your powerband which should be somewhere around 8,000rpm. I would say get it in third gear at 8,000 while standing. Do not let off the throttle just keep it cruising, then bounce on your pegs as hard as you can. As soon as the suspension bottoms out give it WOT and lean back. It will start to come up then it is up to you to keep it there. Keep in mind that you will probably only get it up a few inches for a while and then one day it will just pop right up and you will then be able to do it everytime. The most important thing to remember when attempting this is to not ****** on the bars. You will only be getting it up a few inches for a while and if you are snatching you can pull the wheel to the side and when sat down you will get a tankslapper. Bouncing is not something you will learn instantly, it takes practice like everything else. When I first started trying to bounce up in third on stock gearing I was running about 60mph. I went to -1 and +3 and can bounce up in 5th between 60 and 70mph. Of course it is easier for me b/c I ride a 636 but with work that wimpy little Honda will do it. My first recommendation would be change your sprockets. Sorry I shouldn't have said wimpy. I have seen 3rd gear spreaders clutched up on a stock one b/4.

If only I had the camera footage. I am serious. The only thing not stock on the bike was a slip-on and the guy weighs about 150lbs. I didn't say he wasn't ripping it for all it was worth but he did it all the time.

What is wit ya crotchrocketracer? I can do bounce ups in 5th gear and ride the bp for a couple of miles if I want taking on a couple of curves in the process. If you don't believe me just shut up or I can get you some footage to prove it.
