sliders or cage...

I was looking at the freestyle ingenuity web site and noticed that they offer just the sliders. Just wondering what you guyz prefer not sure if i want a cage or just the sliders. I wanna learn how to do wheelies this season so i wanna protect my bike, but i don't wanna be one of those poser guys who just has a cage and can't even get the bike two inches of the ground. Also, do those extensions on the freestyle cages actually help protect the bike...or is it mainly the sliderz. thanks in advance...

Re: sliders or cage...

if you want some protection for a daily rider, check out our track cages.

www.mxdcages.com

we sell sliders too, but they dont work well. i would stay away from sliders at all costs if you are going to be doing any sort of stunts. your first crash, they will tear off and leave you with almost no protection.

wether you get a cage from us or any other company...stay away from sliders

If you're gonna stunt for real, get a cage, anyone who is trying to learn isn't a poser, no matter what your skill level is. If you bought a cage and never tried anything, that would be gay!

Re: sliders or cage...

might as well get a cage, there way better than sliders and like MXD say's if you crash there just goin to end up gettin bent to hell/breaking and leaving the bike open to any damage sliders are worthless if you ask me

If your goin to learn to stunt your goin to get a cage someday anyway... might as well start with one.

exactly and they are designed to protect your bike from when you drop it, which you will do more while learning. Not posing at all man.

definately get a cage... somethin always gets ****ed up with just sliders... or maybe im just unlucky tho i dont really FI cages anymore. i laid down my 900 from 12 and broke the stator, broke a motor mount, and bent the other mount.

How about those sliders? You cant see it on the pic, but i think there is steel bar between both sides...
Look like those are pretty easy to do and not brake your motor mount like normal sliders use to do.
Maybe those are not so good than real cage, but much better than normal sliders! What you guys think?

Re: sliders or cage...

I agree for stunting go with a cage, I'm using a Powerz cage thats all F*cked up, must have been slammed down 50+ times *knock on wood* nothings broke yet. Saved me $$$$$$$$$$ and thats what its all about.

Deff ask around about what cage people recommend, i can tell you on my bike the cage tends to flex back toward the pegs which end up messing up my shins so i just have to pry it foward every now and then
Maybe they all do this or maybe some dont move at all

Im sure theres some better designs out there now. Good Luck

Re: sliders or cage...

I would either get nothing, or get a cage. it depends on the bike you have, but sliders have a tendencay to bust up motor mounts. the dude i bought my stunter from lowsided and the slider bust half the mount off on the right side. hope this helps somewhat.

Cages are $200-$250 US. Some are a real b i t c h to install and some slide right on. All depends how close the one you get from a jig is to the original size.
