Any way to stop blowin' out fork seals?
Any way to stop blowin' out fork seals?
Well, I 'm wondering if there is any way to stop blowin' out forks seals? That is, aside from not ridin' wheelies and not setting it down hard.
In other words, is there any way to beef up the front end (R6) to prevent this from happening? Any set up info?
Thanks.

best bet is making sure your oil isnt over filled in the forks, and set the wheelie down before you redline so you dont hit the limiter....BTW your from gulfport? i used to live in long beach MS what do you ride?
Re: Any way to stop blowin' out fork seals?
I ride a 99 R6 but I'm asking for my friend with an 04 R6. I have to drive through Long Beach every day to get to work (Stennis).
I was wondering if you could put some springs or something on it.

yes there is a solution...you can wheelie and not put it down never again, just 12 park it when you want to stop...that's an alternative too...just think about it...

True, but these aren't bash 'em up stunters. These are keep them lookin' good bikes.
We are looking to buy a few Honda 9xx's to stunt in the future though.

I know that before I started stunting I liked to ride wheelies and keep my bike nice. I set my gxsr 6 down hard one night blew one seal right out of it. this is still the bike that I stunt now that was four years ago I replaced the seals and bushings filled the oil to spec and I have not had a problem since, even after stunting hard for three years. I have my rebound setings in the middle if he takes it appart make sure you get everything good and clean some say to change your fork oil every twenty thousand I have changed mine twice since rebuilding them, bel ray or honda fork oil seems to work best.
